I was more curious to just follow their macros and see if it actually works, as well as have some feedback from the app, just to see the difference as I progress. They actually say you shouldn’t remain in the lowest fat loss for longer than a set amount of time before you come back up for water, establish a new baseline, and then try again. If my weight loss is 0.5 over two weeks, then it drops you down the the next step (normally cutting fats and carbs to do so). For my weight, it says 1-2 pounds per week loss. The PDF doesn’t have an “end date” so to speak at which point I will make the weight. If it doesn’t, I don’t see how I would continue to lose weight. I would assume that MacroFactor does the same thing, just with more “live” data to work with. I should clarify, the RP plan only changes when the weight loss stalls - likely because as you make progress, your caloric needs change. I personally think the latter is more sustainable and builds better habits, but I can certainly see why someone would be attracted to the former. Assuming the diet templates work like the app. In MacroFactor, the goal rate of loss (or gain) stays constant, so you'd be resetting goals every week. So in the context of your question, I think you'll run into some frustration when RP says "ok you didn't meet your goal loss rate so in order to meet your date, you're going to drop that loss rate down". It will tell you what to do, but it will steer you toward meeting your goal weight change rate, versus trying to achieve that end weight at a specific date. If you follow the app, you WILL reach your desired end weight by the date you committed to. I don't know about the RP diet plans, but I am somewhat familiar with their app. I don't see any reason why you couldn't, but it seems unnecessary considering MacroFactor's coached model is pretty robust.
